Data Governance
Data governance refers to the rules and responsibilities for handling data within a company. It defines who may maintain and view data, the format in which it is captured, who corrects errors and how long data is retained. Typical roles are the data owner, who holds business responsibility, and the data steward, who handles day-to-day implementation. How it differs: data quality measures the condition of the data, data governance defines who is accountable for it.
