Business-IT Alignment

Business-IT alignment refers to aligning IT systems and IT projects with the goals of the business. It clarifies which business requirements a system must meet, which projects take priority and how the business and IT decide together. Without this alignment, systems emerge that work technically but are not used day to day. How it differs: the IT strategy describes the technology, business-IT alignment describes the link between technology and business goals.
