Initial Situation

Before the introduction of Sharedien, the teams at Kärcher worked with a self-developed image database, which was sufficient for managing media content for a long time.

However, with the increasing size of the company and the complexity of product communication, the old system soon reached its limits and so a new solution was sought to optimally manage, maintain and control the 150,000 assets and thus optimally support all subsidiaries in approximately 120 countries and the entire dealer network.

Targets

With the introduction of the new digital asset management solution, central asset management and a true 360° view of all products and product images should be achieved in order to get a better overview of the entire product range.

Automating the transfer of assets was also part of the project goal. The replacement of the self-developed image database with the professional Sharedien DAM should optimize all processes related to the creation, administration and use of digital assets.
