The key to digital success

The terms ‘data-driven enterprise’, ‘data-driven leadership’ and ‘data-driven organisation’ are currently shaping discussions around digital transformation. For many, these objectives represent the basis for sustainable digital business and the ability to make better decisions – at all levels.
However, what it takes to develop a truly data-driven organisation is often still unclear. The majority of companies are still in the early stages of this transformation and usually start with centralised data and analytics (D&A) units, which – decoupled from the line of business – are intended to provide a comprehensive view of data.
Decision-makers hope that D&A will provide insights into which business processes harbour which potential and enable them to derive future business visions and strategies. However, these ambitions cannot be realised with isolated D&A units. In this document, we therefore discuss the prerequisites for building a truly data-driven organisation.
