Siemens modernises Digital Asset Management with Advellence and Sharedien

Siemens has modernised its Digital Asset Management landscape. After around 30 years, the existing legacy system was replaced and Sharedien was introduced as a modern, SaaS-based DAM platform.

The project focused on the technical implementation and seamless integration of the new DAM solution into Siemens’ complex digital ecosystem. The goal was to establish a powerful content value platform that connects digital assets, product data and existing systems through clearly defined interfaces. Product data is made available to Sharedien via the Kafka integration layer and linked with digital assets.

Together with Advellence and Sharedien, Siemens has created a robust foundation that will enable more than 30 consuming systems to receive assets through a modern SaaS interface. The first APIs are already live and accessible through the central Siemens API Management platform.

A clearly defined project scope, transparent collaboration and strong technical execution were key success factors. The result is a scalable foundation for future content processes, AI-enabled automation and the continued development of an intelligent content value chain.
