AI in Product Content Management

Hype or real disruption?

Everyone is talking about the term “artificial intelligence” – and not just since the launch of ChatGPT. Nevertheless, the OpenAI language model has started a small technological revolution by making AI user-friendly, and thus also available and accessible to the general public. AI offers great things both in the private sector and in the working world: the potential to obtain relevant information faster and in a more targeted manner and to make work processes more efficient and economical.

ChatGPT and similar systems belong to the so-called generative artificial intelligences, which are able to imitate human actions and considerations. The concept is based on the machine learning, In other words, the ability of a system to independently interpret entered data and draw conclusions from it. In the past, the task of AI systems was to process structured algorithms and derive instructions for action from them. However, machine learning and generative AI go beyond that. They process large amounts of data, interpret them and can also translate the conclusions both orally and in writing.

AI in general is not a short-lived trend, but an sustained technological development, which is increasingly being used in various areas of the private and professional environment. Especially in connection with product content management systems such as PIM or DAM, can bring real added value to key business processes – thanks to the automation of individual processes and process chains, this applies in particular to the productivity and efficiency of work processes.
